Aneta Bartos’ series ‘Boys’ prompts her viewers with a dark, mysterious and sensual side to human nature. The way she represents males within her images is controversial as they are seen as being quite vulnerable and naive amongst the unsettling lighting, yet their actions are far from it. It is quite unusual for a male to be exposed in such a sexual way as it’s normally women who tend to be categorised in such way. By switching this perception she challenges societies gaze on human nature.
