Alma Haser’s photography work ‘Cosmetic Surgery’ presents us with the reality of pressures within society. The constant need to change our physique is on many people’s minds due to pressure of perfection and conforming to those among us, satisfying their opinions and small minds. Her interpretation of surgery is presented in a strong and creative way as the women are transforming before us. It could be said she has made surgery seem interesting and unique. But, what I think should be focused upon is the distortion of the face, there is no real beauty from surgery, just uncertainty and disruption.
So why conform?
