I have got to say once seeing Arth Daniels work at ‘Stolen Space’ Art Gallery, he has became a favourite of mine. Finally, a new fresh look for portraits. Of course, they’re not your typical photo realism paintings, but haven’t we seen enough of them? He has created work which shows our society the truths about itself. Tanorexic is a perfect example of this (first image), by involving vibrant colours, large proportional features and moderate humor the message is hard to miss. For me, Arth Daniels’ isn’t scared of imperfections which is why his paintings work so well, everybody is so absorbed with the appearance of perfection that they have forgotten the cracks and these paintings bring them back to reality.
